G2V (Sun-like) Stars
In the chart below, blue dots indicate the locations of spectral class G2V (sun-like) stars in the sky derived from the HYG 3.0 Data Base. This includes the entrees from Dale E. Gary's list of G2V stars. These are generally stars with a visual magnitude of 10 or brighter. They can be useful in color calibrating astro-imagery.
The table below the chart shows data for all G2V stars with declinations greater than -10 degrees. The red rectangle in the chart indicates stars that pass roughly overhead at the latitude of Lubbock, Texas (33.6°N). The fields within this table are as follows: id=identification number in the HYG data base; hip=Hipparcos number; hd=Henry Draper Catalog number; con=constellation; ra=right ascension (hours); dec=declination (deg); dist=distance (parsecs); pmra=proper motion in RA; pmdec=proper motion in declination; rv=radial velocity; mag=apparent visual magnitude; absmag=absolute magnitude; spect=spectral class. If you click on a G2V star in the chart, a pointer (">") will appear in the table to indicate the data for it.
