The South Plains Astronomy Club is a small group of active astronomers who enjoy observing under the beautifully dark West Texas skies while being serenaded by coyotes and night birds. We’re a friendly bunch who enjoy showing newcomers the night skies and discussing the latest in telescopes, astro-imaging, astronomical discoveries and space exploration.

MESSAGE BOARD
The Message Board is used to post timely information about club events, such as the Saturday Star Walk and the Public Star Parties. For general comments or questions, email us at SPAC@cat-star.org.

We at the South Plains Astronomy Club are waiting to hear from our community partners as to whether we will be able to start having public stargazing events again in June. The Saturday Star Walk at the Lubbock Arboretum has been cancelled, in part because we don't have enough lead time to set up the event. Decisions on other events in June, including the Public Star Party in Ransom Canyon and the monthly SPAC meeting, are currently pending. Announcements regarding these events will appear here on the Message Board as soon as we can make a call on them. Thank you for your patience.
