NGC 654, NGC 659 and NGC 663

The constellation Cassiopeia contains numerous open clusters and it's often possible to capture more than one in an image. Such is the case with this image. The larger cluster near the bottom of the image is NGC 663. The smaller cluster on the left side of the image is NGC 654, while the smaller cluster on the right side of the image is NGC 659. NGC 663 has a visual magnitude of 7.1 and a diameter of around 15 arc-min; it contains around 108 member stars and lies at a distance of around 7200 LY. Smaller NGC 654 has a visual magnitude of 6.5 and a diameter of around 6 arc-min; it contains around 83 member stars and lies at a distance of around 6445 LY. NGC 659 has a visual magnitude of 7.9 and a diameter of around 6 arc-min; it contains around 186 member stars and lies at a distance of around 8200 LY.
