Cederblad 214

Cederblad 214 is a large emission nebula located along the northern edge of the Milky Way stream in the constellation Cassiopeia. It is also known as Sharpless 171. It is part of a huge molecular cloud and star-forming region that includes the nearby NGC 7822 (not shown in my image). It is notable that this nebula contains one of the hottest stars in our stellar neighborhood. This star, BD+66 1673, has a surface temperature of almost 45,000 degrees K and shines with a luminosity 100,000 times greater than our Sun.
The small group of stars along the left edge of the nebula is the open cluster Berkeley 59. It contains around 40 member stars. The bright yellow star along the right edge of the nebula is the variable V398.
